A blurb from me, and an AWESOME giveaway opportunity

It has been a LONG time since I actually posted just to post.  And I guess this will not qualify either, because I am inserting a link for a giveaway at the end :)

I have been off all week - cleaning my house (you wouldn't believe how messy it actually got)  I neglected it while studying for my CPA exams, which by the way I PASSED, all four sections are completed, and I should be getting my license soon.  So, my house was on the back burner.

What does this mean?  Floors need cleaned.  Dusty tables.  Hair on my curtains where my cats look out the window all day.  Cluttered closets. Piles of mail. etc, etc.

I am an accountant, and tax season quickly approaches, so here I am trying to get everything in order and hope we can keep a semblance of it during tax season.  I am going to start scheduling my cleaning days, and meals.  I will probably post more about this as time goes on :)

Yesterday I pulled a muscle in my side and lower right abdomen.  At least that is what I think.  I am now 28 weeks pregnant.  I cannot believe it.  I have had no issues so far with my pregnancy, so when I awoke this morning to a sharp pain, I was freaked.  I couldn't get into a comfortable position - my husband woke up asking what was wrong.  I told him I didn't know!  I went to the bathroom - no spotting. Thank God.  but still cramping.  Thankfully Baby H was moving around so I didn't doubt that he or she was OK.

I called the Dr. and they think I just twisted something in my sleep, as long as baby is moving and there is no spotting or bleeding, I am OK, but if I happen to spot I am to go to the hospital.  I don't think anything is wrong - Baby has been moving a lot and I am not cramping anymore, it just feels a little tender on my side.

I am pretty sure I overdid it on the cleaning thing.  I lifted too much, and did too much.  I guess that there is a point where I DO have to slow down.  So, I am taking it a little easier today, still cleaning a lot, but not lifting anything even slightly heavy!

I have officially decided to cloth diaper - I was on the fence for a while.  I got my first set of dipes in the mail - Doopsie. I am SO excited.  My mom thinks I am a little crazy, and so do other people, but I am trying to do what is best for my baby, my wallet, and the earth.  The husband is not too crazy about the cost, so I have been trying to win cloth diaper giveaways, and I would LOVE to win the grand prize at 29 Diapers!  I already won some balm and cleanser for Baby H on this giveaway and would love to win some diapers or a wet bag!  So I am posting this for an extra entry into the grand prize.  If you are like me, and cloth diaper, go enter!  Actually, check out the site regardless, she has some great info on saving money for baby's first years, and I have learned so much from this website already!

Wordless Wednesday 12/15

I don't really like calling these posts wordless Wednesdays, because I always end up writing so much anyways.

This morning I got news that a wonderful lady I worked with passed away from breast cancer.  She was young, maybe mid forties at most.  She was married, and had one daughter, who I think is about 19 right now.

Kelly was the sweetest coworker I have ever had - and I looked forward to the days we had scheduled together.  She was a new manager, so I helped train her.  She always told me how much I helped her - when really it was the reverse.  I had been transferred to a bigger store, and it was not my preference.  Her kindheartedness made my transition so easy, and I quickly began to think of that store as my home store.

Nearing the end of my college career, I got an internship and left the company.  Kelly was there on my last day.  She kept thanking me for all of my help. and hugged me as she gave me a tearful goodbye.

She was definitely one of the sweetest souls I have ever met, I feel so lucky to have known her.  I am saddened for her family, and pray they find comfort.

In my area there have also been two fatal crashes in the last two days, the first killed a 20 year old woman and her unborn child.  The second killed two adults, one child, and one child is currently in the hospital, I do not know that child's condition.

All this news is disheartening.  I could really use a pick-me-up right now.  If you live in an area that gets a lot of snow and ice like I do, please stay home unless necessity puts you out on the roads, stay safe.

Friday Follow - Give me your Cloth Diapering Suggestions!

I am super excited this morning, because last night my husband felt baby's first kick :)

Also on my list to share - I am finding that people are incredibly nice to you when you are pregnant, I had four guys helping me at Wal-Mart with my site to store order yesterday, plus lots of random strangers smiling at my belly.  It really was kind of funny :)

Baby is growing! 22 weeks, today!

Everything I read says I will probably be starting to get tired of being pregnant at this point, but right now I am loving it!

Baby is 22 weeks a long today, and is the length of a squash!

I had a rough first 17 weeks of my pregnancy, and now I feel tons better.  I am sure though, that as the baby gets bigger, I will start being more uncomfortable.  

Baby H weighs in at a whole pound now, its eyelids, lips, and eyebrows are formed, and he or she is going to be putting on some major weight in the next few months!

Wordless Wednesday

Blogger is NOT letting me upload a picture tonight, so this wordless worded Wednesday is as follows!

I spent all day in a tax seminar (I know, yawn) but actually this was exceptionally interesting!  Most the time. I will admit, it was hard to stay awake after a rather large lunch, although a little baby was very squirmy today which helped with my alertness.

I learned a lot today, about the health care bill, and about all the media reports that are incredibly false.  I just wanted to take a moment today to tell you all that in my opinion, the media is not a good source of information.  If you hear about something that seems completely shocking, chances are that it isn't true.  If you think that a tax issue is going to affect you negatively because you got an email claiming that the sale of your home is going to be taxed, consult your tax professional BEFORE you get upset about it! (this is generally untrue, unless your gain is over a threshold)

Yes there is good and bad to this health care bill, and some of it seems downright impossible to implement.  I can't say that I agree with the bill in it's entirety, some of it is completely ridiculous.  However, I get really sick and tired of the media and politicians playing America for a bunch of idiots.  So, here is my two cents! - Be diligent.  Don't jump on the bandwagon.  Do your fact checking.  Form an opinion and be an informed voter - you owe it to your country :)

NotyBaby Giveaway!

I am doing this post to earn some extra entries into a giveaway for a NotyBaby giftcard.  Let me start by saying that these products are absolutely adorable!

I love the cotton minky blankets, and am convinced I need one for Baby H :)  However, they are a little pricey for a blanket that is going to get slobbered on.  The good news - the reviews I have read say these blankets are worth every penny!  I think Baby H deserves a luxurious blanket that is oh-so-soft with an adorable modern print :)

What a Weekend :)

Well Baby H isn't too keen on showing off the goods, so, we STILL do not know if its a boy or a girl.  I would really like to be calling it "he" or "she" instead of it!

The ultra sound went very well though, Baby is comfy in there, all curled up.  Placenta, cord, and fluid all looked good :)

So at week 21, baby is the size of a carrot!

My little carrot baby sure is cute already, all cuddly and sleepy in there:)

I want to start getting ready for Baby H as much as possible, so I put together its bathtime bag

This is my Thirty One bag I bought from a coworker who is a consultant. The washcloths, towels, and lotions all fit perfectly :)

And here is the belly at 21 weeks 

Can't wait to meet the little girl, or boy!
